At 9pm we had a live performance by Making Space Studio artist Sam Sutton who created a live painting to live music on electric guitar by Tadhg Kelleher & Anthony Doyle. This improvisational piece of performance art was created in reaction to the rhythm and beats of the music as well as being a symphony of colour. There was an electric atmosphere in the studio as Sam painted with all the energy and excitement of any live music performance.
Live painting is a unique experience as painters usually work privately in an enclosed studio and reveals a finished piece in a gallery, live Painting allows the audience to watch the creative process unfold from beginning to completion. Sams performance was energetic and exhilarating and for those watching they experienced a raw energy and passion that goes into any art piece.
