"Mini Fest"
From 12.00 pm Sunday 24th November to around 9.30 pm At Venue 4 Athlone There will be workshops and music Workshops are €5 each pp- 12.00 pm Karen Goode's Acrylics Craic workshop 2.30 pm Jason Gill's Play-writing workshop 5.00 pm Martin Kelleher's Creative Writing workshop This will be followed by music - around 7.30 to around 9.30 pm €5 entry on the door, feel free to BYOB Music from Cathal McCormack (Ghost Rats) Deborah McKeown and more... "Picnic in the Park" in conjunction with "The National Community Weekend"
Saturday 4th. May. 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm Burgess Park Athlone Free for all the family- Painting, Poetry, Drawing and more The National Community Weekend "The Big Hello!" The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Mr Michael Ring, TD, announced the launch of National Community Event, to be held for the first time over the May Bank Holiday weekend, 2019. The event is a celebration of the great spirit of community that exists across the country and an effort to help people who share communities to come together, get to know each other and deepen the sense of community in their area. "Picnic in the Park" is part Funded by the Department of Rural & Community Development and was allocated through Westmeath Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and Westmeath County Council (WCC). It was a lovely sunny day out with plenty of food, painting, chatting, relaxing and the odd rendition of "La Bamba" by a lady who had travelled from London. The “Seventh” anniversary party of “Making Space” Athlone
The "7 Deadly Sins" Event:- On Friday 25th. May 2018 Making space presented a Free art Exhibition in the "Aidan Heavey Public Library" Athlone. Lorna Kincaid Molloy one of the founder members of Making Space opened the event and was joined later by the second founder member Rois Ni Dhochartaigh. There were 19 talented local Artist exhibiting their artworks at the exhibition which ended on Friday 1st June. On Saturday 26th. May 2018 Making Space presented a Free open air public event in the "John Count McCormack" Square Athlone. Sound, Movement and Vision featured many talented performers including the young talented kids from the "Bronte Stage School" group. Making Space would like to thank all of those that were involved with this project and to those that came out to view and enjoy both the exhibition and the open air event. Thank You. "Our Space" Art Exhibition-
Friday 22nd to Saturday 30th September 2017 To celebrated "Culture Night" Making Space held a free art exhibition in the Library, Athlone. The exhibition was officially opened by Mel O' Flynn on the Friday (22nd). The first slide show shows the opening of the exhibition. The second slide show shows some of the art that was displayed at the exhibition. Making Space would like to thank all those involved, the artist, Mel O' Flynn, Cllr.
