I have always been interested in the negative and positive aspects of life, as well as in the symbiosis of spirit and matter. This is the most concise way to express my attitude to Art. Furthermore, it is beauty and my attitude to it, that gives meaning to my existence. I use different materials in my work, taken from nature (stone, clay, wood, wax) in their natural form, as well as manufactured goods. My purpose is to get to know in every way their characteristics. I am fascinated with all the possibilities they offer. It is my conviction to work with them without repeating myself, to transform the raw material, and to create a piece of Art without violating the inner spirit of the material.
In May 2001 I completed my Masters Degree in Fine Art at “Sts.Cyril and Mathodius” Veliko Tarnovo University –Bulgaria, Department of Sculpture, Specialization: Sculpture, Professional Qualification: Fine Art Teacher. I gained my Master Degree from the one of the oldest and most reputable Universities in Bulgaria and in the same year I became employed as an Art Teacher –Lecturer in Secondary Vocational School in Burgas, Bulgaria. Since moving to the Republic of Ireland I have been very much involved with the Linnen Hall Art Centre and galleries in Castlebar, Galway, Athlone. I have lectured and instructed a number of workshops for the public and been involved with showing my own work in exhibitions. Separate from this I also conduct private art lessons with students of varying age. For more information, visit; www.rositsaart.co.cc |
